Q: What engine should I put in my 1976 Camaro?
I’m thinking about buying a really nice conditioned 1976 Camaro but then puting A LOT more power in it (new “used” engine). What engine should I get that has a lot of HP (FAST) or would just another stock be good? I like a LOUD engine. I want something that will turn heads maybe even possibly drag race (not rlly, but you get what I mean). I want a “proffessional” opinion on what I should go with?
A: It’s simple.
Add a big engine, and a big transmission, and a big drive shaft, and a big rear-end, and big brakes, and big radiator, and….
Otherwise something is going to break.
Q: my car keys r in my trunk of my 1976 camaro i think what can i do?
i locked my keys in the trunk of my 1976 Chevy camaro. Dealer is out of the question cause i have about 4 different locks on the car from peacing together cars to make mine. i have the ignition key but that’s it and I am not positive that they are in the trunk if there not what can i do. And don’t tell me i am a dumb ass for not having spares… cause i already know that.
A: You said trunk, so I take it the doors are unlocked.
You can pull the backseat out with a couple of bolts and look through and see if you see them. If you do then you can use something to fish them out with
Q: What should the average running temp on a 1976 camaro be, mine is at 200-230 is that ok, or running too hot?
Keep in mind it is a 1976, in Dallas, in the middle of the summer, and stop and go traffic. If it is running to hot, what should i do? I’ve already put a new water pump, all new hoses, flushed the radiator twice, new 195* Thermostat, and new 16lb pressure release rad. cap.
A: Should be fine at those temps. 230 is about the max you want to see though. I installed a aluminum Griffon radiator in my 71 Nova and my electric fan hardly kicks on any more.
Q: Is anyone selling or know of a 1976 Camaro for sale?
Dont just tell me yes, tell ma a person, a states, and a address, and a phone number.
A: yes

A: google 1976 Camaro for sale
Q: Where can I find a 1976 Camaro FOR SALE?
It can be a fixer upper, any price range.
A: Auto Trader Clasics
Q: What kind of gas mileage will a 1976 Chevy Camaro with a 350 V8 engine get?
this car needs ALOT of cosmetic work, but sounds good to me otherwise. But how bad of a gas hog is it?
A: The gas mileage is going to be horrible…i bet if you sit at a light, you will be able to watch the gas gauge move down…
Q: bottom door chrome 1976 camaro?
i recently put a new door on my 1976 camaro lt with a door off of a 1979 camaro berlineta. the berlineta did not have the chome piece on the bottom of the door like my old door and doesn’t mach the rest of the car without it. how would i be able to fasten the clips to the door that hold the chrome piece.? i was thinking very small rivets, but my dad says that’s not a good idea… any one have any ideas?
A: Carefully, drill out the clips from the old door and rivet them to the new door.
Q: is the 1974 camaro the exact same as the 1976 camaro?

Q: 1976 Camaro Suspension. Leaf Springs?
I have a 1976 Camaro and was wondering about suspension. Right now it sits on stock leaf springs in the back. What options for different suspensions are there and what would they be used for? Like a four link new leaf springs or what… Also what would new leafs do just wondering what all i am looking at.
A: I have a 79, so I have the identical suspension as yours.
Let me tell you – there’s a ton of options now for 2nd gen cars. You can do a modified stock leaf suspension. You can do a coil-over conversion with your stock rear axle. You can even drop the existing rear and bolt in a whole coil-over 9″ rear setup if you have the money.
Primarily there’s two reasons you would want to do something exotic – 1) dragstrip duty where you’re pushing obscene amounts of power; and 2) road race where you want significant improvements to stock suspension geometry.
Okay – a third is if you want ground-dragging show car appearance.
Here’s what I’m intending on doing with my car. My car will be a street sleeper with approx. 400-450 horse going to my back end, running slightly wider than stock tires. As such, my rebuilt 10 bolt will handle the power. I’ll be running new replacement multi-leaf springs with new perches (don’t know if I’m relocating inboard or not yet – I’m not that far), and polygraphite bushings. I’m adding weld-in subframe connectors and a set of adjustable “mini” style snubber bars. I want to maintain good cornering talent with the ability to take a hard Honda-crushing launch when necessary, and from what I’ve seen, this should give me enough for the street, and the occasional drag pass.
Hope this helps.
Q: Which is better? 1976 camaro or 2008 camaro Bumblebee?
I recently bought the 1976 Deluxe class Bumblebee….And a days later realised that there is a 2008 camaro version. Is it better? Should I get it? Really….people should stop making “rare” toys….Frustrating, don’t ya think? Or should I wait and get the 12inch Bumblebee? But it’ll cost $90++ for me here.
Erm, I’m talking about the TOY btw. +Please answer the QUESTION!
A: Yes, the 2008 version is “better.” Of course, that’s a subjective opinion, but the 2008 Deluxe Bumblebee has better articulation and detailing, and well, it just looks “cooler.”
Follow the link below and you can see side-by-side images of the 1974 (not 1976) and 2008 Deluxe Bumblebee figures.

If you can afford the Ultimate Bumblebee, then you needn’t even ask. It’s one of the most detailed Transformers ever created. Were I a big fan of the movie toys, I’d get it.

Q: 1976 Camaro pricing question….?
My friend is buying a 1976 Camaro from her friend’s father for $1,000. It sometimes has trouble starting, but it does run okay once it starts. However, it has not actually been driven anywhere in a very long time and I think there might be some various mechanical problems with it since it has been sitting on the lawn for years. It is also quite rusty and the upholstery is kind of dirty. Is my friend paying too much for this old car (even though it is a Camaro)?
My friend is buying this as her first car, and she would be driving it to work every day.
A: 76 Camaro’s are not a popular year and the quality of work started going down hill by 74 and was well on its way by 76. It might have a lot of problems with bushings, brakes, and all the fluids would need to be changed. Rear end fluid, brake fluid, tranny fluid, engine oil, radiator fluid, all the bushings for the suspension would need to changed and oiled up. Id be very cautious.
Q: open headers on a 1976 camaro?
i know the risk, thats not what im asking. ive heard from many sources that open headers are illegal exept from the factory…but ive also heard that it not illegal if the car i considered a classic at least 25 years old, and even if it is illegal do cops realy care? i live at the bottom of alabama and its a pretty small town out here. any answeres would be greatly appreciated!
A: A 76 Camaro had a catalytic converter for emissions, you are required by law to have one (or two if you have true dual exhaust). Failure to do so is a serious fine. Open headers would mean no cat – so not OK. In addition, failure to have any sort of muffler would make the car illegally loud, so not OK there either.
Yes – cops care, they like to find ways to generate revenue, and you would be making it easy for them with both an emissions violation and noise violation.
Do it right, dual cats, dual low restriction mufflers (Flowmaster or something like that). It will sound nicer too, open cats are too loud, you sound like an old truck.
Q: have been interested in a 1976 Camaro but it’s paint is chipped and interior is crappy how much should i pay?
A: If it will get you back and forth, it’s worth at least $1,000.
Q: 1976 Chevy Camaro V6 to V8?
I have a 1976 camaro i picked up for my wife(now mine woot), a seal blew, now it’s leaking oil quicker than i can dump it in, so it’s been sitting in the garage for the last year. Ive redone the inside and it’s looking sweet, now time for the engine. My problem is it has a stock V6 and i figure since it’s my toy now i want power. I cant seem to find much information on conversions. The other problem im worried about is how well it will hook up with the manual 3 speed. It’s been years(20) since ive done any major engine work, and im looking forward to it, but need some guidance on what’s a good engine, and if it will hook up to trany( for right now i can only afford the stock tranny, being that i will need to spend cash on engine)
A: The V8 should go right in with no problem and should hook up to your transmission.
