Q: 1969 camaro?
where can i find a 1969 camaro junker in southern california i want to fix one up but cant find any and how much would one cost
A: Will cost quiet a bit since they are not many left. If you ever find one, will be one pretty beat up and is not cost effective to repair.
I read an article once, about a guy that build a Camaro out of parts. There is company that makes the floor panels and quarter panels and many other parts. All he did was put it together and came as good as an original.
I rather try that if I have the cash to spare.
Good luck !
Q: 1969 camaro?
hey im only 15 but i would love to get a 1969 camaro it dont need to have a gearbox or enigne i just need a rollin shell how much would that set me back with no rust
A: like flo-nitt said…most cars this good with no rust would be a complete car….if you’re looking for one with everything except engine and tranny then you’re looking about 12000-15000 then 3000 for a good powerplant and 1500 for a manual transmission or about 2200 for an automatic. Bad for you I have a 73 and 92 Camaro…I’m 15 also…92 camaro is in showroom condition. Possibly looking to sell sometime.
Q: Does a 1969 Camaro with the RS package necessarily mean it is an SS?
I found a 1969 camaro that definitely has the RS package, but i am not sure if it is an ss or not. Does having an RS package mean the car is always also an SS?
A: Any Camaro could be ordered with the RS package, V6’s, Z/28’s, and SS’s.
One way to tell what kind of car it is is to check the emblems. A V6 would have “rs” while a Z/28 and an SS would have their respective emblems on the car.
Unfortunately, anybody could put any emblem on the car and you wouldn’t know unless you looked at the engine, which no longer applies today as people have changed a lot of the engines (unless its numbers match, which would mean a 302 would be a Z/28 while a 350 or 396 would be an SS)..
The only real way to know today is to either look at the window sticker (which is more often than not missing) or to check the VIN, as it will usually tell you what kind of engine you have.
Great choice on the car though. I love the ‘69 Camaro.
Q: What are the exact dimensions of a 1969 Chevy Camaro?
I am making a scale model of a 1969 Camaro and I need some help. I need the height from ground to top and how much it sits off of the ground. this would preferably be from a stock Camaro. thanks very much.
also what is E70x 15 tires in inches
A: Dimensions: L: 186.0 in, W: 74.0 in, H: 51.1 in Weight 3435 lb These are the specs for the 1969 camaro.
Q: 1969 Camaro?????????
Why is it so popular? Also,is it comfortable to drive in,as well as slick and sexy? How much horse power can the upgraded SS version produce?
A: better over all, that’s my dream car 1969 rs/ss convertible? if you can get it do it.
and yes there is an RS/SS model look it up
67-69 is 1st gen. 70-81 2nd gen. others dont matter
Q: What is the main difference between the 1967 and 1969 Camaro SS cars?
I’m writing a book that would feature one of the cars. I like the Camaro that is shorter and not as long in the front.
A: 67s have no marker lights, mono leaf rear springs, wing windows, the optional guage pod was round on 67s, on the rs option package 67s had vacuum controls for the headlight doors (all other years were electric) and very early 67s had generators not alternators. Also 67 Z28s had no badging it was an available option it was just never marked on the car.
Q: Need an estimate on how much power steering for a 1969 Camaro SS would cost?
I am lookin to purchase a 69 Camaro SS (Clone). The onyl thing holding me back is that there is no power steering. I have no clue how much something like that would cost me in parts and labor? I am looking for a good estimate thats all.
A: This should pretty much cover all the parts that you’ll need. These prices are for first gen. Camaro reproduction parts. There are numerous pumps, brackets, and pulleys that would work and probably cost less, but if you want to use rebuilt original or reproduction Camaro parts here you go.
A rebuilt power steering box is around $250
Pressure side hose – $25
Return side hose – $15
A rebuilt pump – $95
Pump bracket set – $85
Pump pulley – $80
Pitman arm – $80
Column coupler – $35
So you’re looking at about $665 in parts. If you can find a complete kit it may be a little cheaper. Labor would probably be $500-750. If you are mechanically inclined at all, it’s not a difficult job. It’s a little time consuming, but not very complicated.
Q: Whats a good price for a 1969 chevy camaro?
I know someone who has a 1969 chevy camaro in his garage thats he’s had for years. I asked him if he would sell it and he said for a good price. The exterior and interior are all taken care of and doesn’t need any major work the only thing is the motor doesn’t work. What’s a good price for the car?
A: Chassis excellent.
Engine in-op.
Transmission unknown.
=
$5000 to $7500
Q: how much would it cost to restore a 1969 camaro?
i was thinking of starting out with getting a 69 camaro to restore (i would NOT be putting in the items myself) and was woundering how much am i looking at after it’s all said and done AND how much 2 just get it into good/decent condicion?
A: A ground-up show quality restore can easily run $50,000+. But thats practically rebuilding the entire car. It can vary greatly depending on how far are you wanting to go as far as things like the engine and paint. Do you want a sleeper that eats rice three meals a day or just something to drive around on a nice day. You can get an okay paint job for around $1000 and do a mild rebuild on the motor for between 5 and 10 grand. Basically, you can have it like it came of the showroom floor for $50,000+ or you can have it on the road, looking and running good for $15,000-$30,000.
Q: how to install a ignition switch in a 1969 Camaro?
I dont have the key so I cant get it into the acc pos. Is there a way to change it with out the key?
A: i envy you. i love the 1969 chevy camaro. yeah, you can get someone to change the key swith. mine is messed up too right now. i have a 79 camaro. it needs a lot of interior work.
Q: I have a 1969 Camaro SS with a 350, what is the best type of Fuel to use and what type of additives?
I just purchased the car and i have been told different things. Some say low octane 87 or 89 and others said run 94 if you can.
A: well the thing is , is the engine been built or is it all stock,, you can try runing alitle low octain in it and if it ratlles and pings ,, then you need to run higher octain,, the rattle and pinging is call detonation and it can hurt the engine over a long periond of time ,, with easy driveing ,, it can hurt it real quick with hard driveing such as bust a hole in the top of the piston,, if it were mine id just run high test,, just to be on the safe side,, you haft to remeber that in that time era ,, that car was made to produce big power ,, and with big power you need high test fuel,,you could also do a compresion test on the engine and if it has more tha 145 pounds of compresion you should run high test fuel
Q: Is there any differences, in the body structure, between the models of the 1969 Camaro?
I wanna purchase a ‘69 Camaro, but cannot decide between the SS, or RS, or Z models, really any model. I just know I want a hobby car to rebuild, and need to know the differences between the models, I don’t care if the difference is just in the engine sizes, because I’m most likely going to rebuild a totally different engine for it, from scratch.
A: http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camaro_info_db/index.php?year=1969 This link will help you find the info you need. The only true difference between the models are trim levels.engines, transmissions and suspensions.Best of luck.
Q: I have a 1969 Camaro SS, what is the best type of Fuel to use and what type of additives?
I just purchased the car and i have been told different things. Some say low octane 87 or 89 and others said run 94 if you can.
A: Ok, I’ll tell you the answer. It just depends on your engines compression ratio, since its a 69 it should be around 9 to 1. In that case you should run right at 89. If you put 87 octane in it you won’t maximum performance if you have around 9 to 1 compression, if you put super high octane like 93 and up, you will just be wasting your money. Unless you are running serious drag motor running on around 12, or 13 to 1. As far as additives, its its older, get the sea foam product. It comes in a silver tall can, and you can pick it up in alost any parts store.
Q: How do you remove the two pins on a 1969 Camaro steering joint?
I have photo of the joint if it helps
I am trying to replace the joint on my 1969 camaro and cannot remove the two pins that locate the joint.. any ideas would be helpful
A: The pins are part of the rag joint assembly. You can’t remove them. If you have the two bolts out that hold the pieces together, the next thing you need to do is climb under the dash and loosen or remove the flange that holds the steering column to the firewall. You will also have to undo the bracket that holds the column under the dash. Then the two shafts will separate, and you can get the rag joint out. I used a box on the seat to hold the column in about the right position, to put it back together.
Q: Would a cheap 1970 chevelle or a cheap 1969 camaro be a good first car?
Im 14 right now and have inherited a 1995 ugly black ford taurus. I figure i can sell it for enough to get either of my cars of choice pretty cheap and have a little left over to fix it up a little. Im just wondering because ill be taking drivers ed this summer.
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com
